Last night Raheem DeVaughn, Leela James and V. Bozeman brought the Love ‘n Soul Experience Tour to the TLA (Theater of Living Arts) and it was a bumping good time! The beautiful V. Bozeman kicked off the show right at 8pm and the crowd waited tentatively for her to drop the first note. Her bronzed skin glistened in the spot lights with her fierce and signature low cut, and the cranberry hued deep plunge romper was right on trend for the perfect fall look. She started off with “Hourglass,” written by the aggressive Music Mogul, Lucious Lyon, played by Terrance Howard in FOX’s “Empire” hit series. The crowd was transitioned into, and rocked to, the edgy “Music Is My Boyfriend” lyrics as the mood moved into Black empowerment through the thought provoking “Race Jones” song written by Ceelo Green. Bozeman’s latest single, “Smile,” was also a part of the set and it made me want to go ahead and download the song from iTunes as she performed it because the energy was so live!
Although I wasn’t quite ready for her to leave the stage so soon, Bozeman ended her time with the Philly audience with “What Is Love,” a very familiar song that was featured during “Empire’s” first season, followed by an outerlude of the classical “What The World Needs Now.”
The entire show was a real experience that took you through a journey of love, soul, and the appreciation of music from true artists of their craft. If you didn’t make it to the TLA last night you missed a great thing but I have a few images to share with you to let you in on the experience. Thank you Echo for letting me in on this lyrical experience in the city!
