Alima Pure is a natural mineral cosmetic brand that I’m glad I was able to learn more about. “Alima comes from the sufi word Al Alim, which means that divine wisdom encompasses even the smallest things. To us that means that even life’s most trivial details are rich with significance, and that it’s in the process of living life to the fullest that we are our most beautiful.” -Alima Pure

Not only was I already in the market for a more natural foundation to try, I got to review the most essential application tool which is the #25 Foundation Brush. It retails for $30.00 and believe me when I say it’s well worth each penny!

The bristles are dense and made of 100% cruelty-free Taklon fiber, but to give an authentic review I also went ahead and used the Mineral Foundation Selector to find my foundation match for my sample kit. The kit consists of 5 foundation shades, a mineral blush, a mini brush, and a signature Alima Pure makeup bag. All of the cosmetics have no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, phthalates, dimethicone, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride, or nanoparticles. I like my makeup to be simple, easy, and natural so after finding my perfect shade (I’m a Neutral 3.5) the fun began!

The mineral makeup is light weight yet buildable which works perfectly with my acne prone combination skin. For more coverage I can simply mist my face with water (you can mix in a few drops of glycerin if you need added moisture) in a spray bottle, let it set for a few minutes and then apply another layer. If I’m in a tinted moisturizer kind of mood all I need to do is add a few sprinkles of mineral makeup to my moisturizer, or facial oil, and an instant light cream is formed.

The Foundation Brush is soft, plush-like, and velvety on my skin. The dense bristles ensures an even coverage and I love the versatility Alima Pure offers with their cosmetics and tools. I will have to upgrade my makeup kit to all Alima Pure essentials very soon!

What kind of makeup brushes do you use to apply your makeup? Have your ever tried a mineral makeup before?
