Our Curls Being Understood

Instead of reiterating the texture typing guide (which I am glad they took a different approach so thank you!), I love how Curls Understood took the time to categorize and explain each group of hair texture. Not to mention the illustrations are so beautiful! I am for sure a part of the Kinky club but which group can you and your curls relate too?

I absolutely LOVE this post! Reading through each description I’ve realized that my hair is a mixture of two textures. After careful review I’d say my hair is about 80% curls (front and middle) and 20% coils (back and nape). Thanks for helping me solve this mystery 🙂

This is really nice! I like how they showed different lengths for each category too.

Same here because the natural with the long hair always gets play so it was def a breath of fresh air!

This is my favorite hair type chart/list PERIOD!
I’ve always categorized myself as kinky/curly/coily because my hair seems to do all of that, but NOW i can simplify and just say coily (which is what I called it when I first chopped and it seemed easier to classify… since it started to get long it’s gotten so confusing).
Now I wish we all dropped the a,b,c’s and 1.2.3’s and just used this!
    Thanks!!
